Rosaisela and Marco are two very brave kids with Down Syndrome who have been using Soundsory program under the watchful eyes of Irma, their Special Education Needs teacher. Read their inspirational stories below as they used the headphones to improve hand-eye coordination (by solving tangram puzzles) and building interpersonal relationships.
ROSAISELA WORKED ON IMPROVING HER READING AND BUILDING SOCIAL RELATIONSHIPS
Rosaisela attends daily therapy sessions where she uses the Soundsory headphones and its music and movement program.
She is enrolled in a ballet class and she likes to perform the movements from those classes while listening to the Soundsory program. Her teacher Irma observed significant progress in her. She says "Her reading has improved a lot. She can identify phonemes, syllables and words. She cannot fully process longer words yet but can write them down if they are dictated to her letter by letter. She can count numbers better now, her memory has improved and can complete tangram puzzles by herself (pictured left).
She expresses herself better, is more sociable and has been working on advancing her relationship building skills. Soundsory is helping her work her way to becoming more independent by taking the initiative to complete a task."
MARCO IMPROVED INTERPERSONAL SKILLS AND COGNITION
Marco is a 9 year old kid with Down Syndrome who, like Rosaisela, used the Soundsory as part of his therapy sessions in his special education school. Initially, before starting on the Soundsory program, he had presented with behaviour challenges, concentration and focus.
After starting work listening to the Soundsory program, he improved. He was more willing to work with tangram puzzles, following instructions from his teachers, and more than willing to build healthy relationships with his family as well as school teachers. Marco's parents are pleased with his progress and we wish that he continues to build on his very promising start.
